Artichokes– These vegetables are kind of strange looking and only a small portion of them can be eaten but they are good for your health. Artichokes protect the heart and liver from disease. They also lower cholesterol, improve the digestive process and can stabilize blood sugar if it is too high.
Nuts– Ready to go nuts for nuts?! Nuts are good for the heart and help to lower cholesterol. The best options are walnuts which have tremendous healing properties, almonds, chestnuts and pistachios. Even regular peanuts are tops but always look for plain, unsalted and unflavored ones. Chestnuts are also beneficial for those who wish to lose weight. (Please note that walnuts are also believed to fight cancer, lift the mood and improve memory).
Chilli Peppers– These peppers might be a little strong for the palate that is not used to them but they help to perk up the immune system and are helpful in the fight against cancer. But that is not all. Chilli peppers are actually good for digestion and they are beneficial for stuffed up sinuses and a sore throat. The Red Hot Chilli Peppers must be onto something!
Green Tea– Tea is good for you in general but green tea is the bomb! Green tea protects the heart and is beneficial in preventing strokes. It is also helpful in the fight against a variety of cancers. Green tea kills bacteria that threaten to enter the body and it is theorized to be good for the enamel of the teeth! Those looking to shed some pounds would also do well to begin drinking green tea on a regular basis. To get the most benefit from green tea, drink at least two cups a day and drink it without any milk or sugar (a little bit of honey or lemon as a sweetener is permissible though).
Honey– Speaking of honey, it makes our list of healing foods. Honey is reputed to be one of nature’s purest foods. Honey is not only tasty but it is excellent for digestion and it helps to heal wounds as well as protecting against the start of ulcers. But the benefits of honey don’t end there. Honey can provide a boost to sagging energy levels and is instrumental in the fight against a selection of allergies. Enough said?
